It is hoped that this extracurricular study of the study of&nbsp; the book of Fathul Qarib can be useful for increasing in-depth knowledge of students about Islamic jurisprudence and Islamic law and being able to apply them in their daily lives. The approach in this study is to use a qualitative approach, a method based on post-positivism philosophy, used to examine natural object conditions (as opposed to experiments), where research is the key instrument, and data collection techniquescarried out in a triangulation (combined) manner, data analysis is inductive/qualitative&nbsp; in nature, the results of qualitative research emphasize meaning rather than generalization. The aim of the study was to analyze the planning, implementation, and extracurricular evaluation of the study of the Fathul Qarib book in increasing students’ understanding of the procedures for fardhu prayers at MA Nahdlatul Ulama LombokWetan Wonosari Bondowoso for the 2022/2023 academic year. In the research, the research wanted to emphasize the idea of the existence of an axracurricular learning study of the Fathul Qarib book by examining the implementation of the extracurricular, based on stages such as planning, implementing and evaluating the results of the application of learning. Customers of educational services are grouped into two categories. First, internal customers, namely education service customers who tend to be permanent, namely education managers, including madrasah heads and their assistants, educational staff, and educational administration staff. Second, external customers, namely parties who have an interest in madrasah services but are tentative in nature, which include students, parents (guardians of students), the community, the business world and the government. Therefore, madrasas as one of the providers of education services must be able to meet the demands of the community's needs. In addition, madrasas are also religious-based educational institutions and have strong cultural roots in society and have a clear social basis. On this basis, if madrasas get a touch of good management and leadership, they will undoubtedly easily become madrasas that are of interest to the community. Tarhib refers to an approach that drives positive motivation, while targhib refers to an approach that drives negative motivation in the educational process. The main objective of this study is to analyze the implementation of these two concepts in education at the Islamic boarding school. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results of the study show that the Darul Fiqhi Islamic Boarding School has successfully implemented the tarhib wat targhib concept well. The application of these two approaches has had a positive impact on shaping the character of the students by building intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. The tarhib approach encourages students' enthusiasm for learning through appreciation and recognition, while the targhib approach establishes discipline and responsibility through sanctions that are applied wisely. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the benefits of the tarhib wat targhib concept in Islamic education at Islamic boarding schools. The implications of this research can provide guidance for other educational institutions in developing a balanced approach to motivating and forming positive character in the younger generation.</p> <p><strong>Keywords</strong>: Tarhib Wat Targhib, Education Manhaj, Islam, Darul Fiqhi Islamic Boarding School.</p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>ABSTRAK</strong></p> <p>Penelitian ini mengkaji konsep tarhib wat targhib sebagai manhaj pendidikan Islam di Pondok Pesantren Darul Fiqhi. Tarhib merujuk pada pendekatan pendorong motivasi positif, sementara targhib mengacu pada pendekatan pendorong motivasi negatif dalam proses pendidikan. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis implementasi kedua konsep tersebut dalam pendidikan di pondok pesantren tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pondok Pesantren Darul Fiqhi telah berhasil menerapkan konsep tarhib wat targhib dengan baik. Penerapan kedua pendekatan ini telah memberikan dampak positif dalam membentuk karakter santri dengan membangun motivasi intrinsik dan ekstrinsik. Pendekatan tarhib mendorong semangat belajar santri melalui penghargaan dan pengakuan, sedangkan pendekatan targhib membentuk disiplin dan tanggung jawab melalui sanksi yang diterapkan dengan bijak. Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam pemahaman lebih mendalam tentang manfaat konsep tarhib wat targhib dalam pendidikan Islam di pondok pesantren.
